THE hosts of the Warrington Business Awards had extra reasons to celebrate after taking home an award themselves.
The event, in its ninth staging, was held at Stretton’s Park Royal Hotel and it was the hotel itself that took home the spoils in the training and development category.
And according to general manager Jacqui Hanson, the award is reward for the investment made in staff.

She said: “We send the staff on as many courses as we can because we consider it vitally
important that we give them the right support.
“And we have seen the result of that investment in the awards and the figures.
“It is recognition for the hard work of the senior team and also the staff have put in.
“We do believe in developing our staff, we want to keep them without this hotel but it is about progressing them within the industry as well.
And Jacqui, who has worked at the Park Royal for the 18 months, said all of the 198 staff members were passionate about the hotel.
She added: “Friday night was not just rewarding for the win.
“The event ran like clockwork and people kept coming up to me saying how impressed they were.
“This was a big event for the area with a lot of external local customers and it was great to see the staff execute things so well.”
The category was sponsored by Warrington Borough Council.
Commended in this category was The Premier Inn Warrington East
