“Our award category was corporate social responsibility so it was really about the kind of activities we get up to as a company and employees as individuals in terms of charitable events and support for various charities.”
MWH chose the Foundation for Peace as their flagship charity for this year and also supports a variety of other charities across the town.
Gareth Mills, business unit director for project services, added: “On a bigger scale we are involved in major humanitarian support work such as Water Aid and we help out in disaster areas such as Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
“The award is of huge importance to us. When we won the award it was communicated throughout all three Warrington offices. Everyone is really excited by it and see it as recognition of indivudal and collective support of charities.”
Mr Mills added: “Our mission is to build a better world and the award fits very well with our values and culture.
“I think it’s really, really important that we behave responsibly as a company and that we are a very good neighbour.”
