Winner - Rob Crossland - Parasol

BORN nine years ago, it now has 32,000 contractors, 2,500 partnerships, 100 staff and £300m turnover.

And on Friday, boss of Parasol Rob Crossland was named Business Person of the Year at the Warrington Business Awards.

Based at Centre Park, managing director Rob has been there since the start. The company looks after the needs of 32,000 contractors and has partnerships with 2,500 recruitment agencies.

Parasol now employs more than 100 staff and is continually growing and turning challenges into opportunities - despite the recession. Earlier this year, Parasol successfully acquired Quay Accounting - the first of several planned strategic acquisitions in Parasol’s ambition to become one of the biggest contractor service providers in Europe.

Judges said: “Rob Crossland shows excellent leadership in spotting opportunities to support small businesses and delivers this support very effectively.

“He has also established very positive relationships with bigger companies. It was also a very good application.”
